Issues For Women Considering Egg Donation

Donor age

The age of the female donor listed with us is between 20 – 28 years of age at the time of egg collection. Potential Donors with this age may be used with appropriate consultation with the recipients.

Exclusion criteria-Donors will be excluded if they have a personal or family history of a number of diseases including:

  • Venereal disease
  • Hepatitis B & C
  • Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
  • Sickle cell trait
  • Thalassaemia trait
Health / LifeStyle

Donors must be in good health and are required to sign a life-style declaration form. Donors and their partners (if applicable) will be screened for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV (AIDS) and venereal disease prior to the donation.

Egg Donors – Clinical Evaluation and Counseling

Medical Consultation

Potential egg donors have to undergo medical consultations. At first visit the specialist takes a medical history and get blood tests like blood group,vdrl,HIV,hepatitis B antigen,HCV , LH, E2,TSH,AMH and a vaginal ultrasound for antral follicular count,size of the ovaries ,any pathology like ovarian cyst or endometriosis in the ovaries

At the second visit the test results are reviewed and a decision is made on medical grounds if the potential donor can continue.In case of any discrepancy, a meeting is arranged between the donor & the recipient .The consent forms are signed by both parties.
